Songdo ConvensiA
Songdo Convensia is the first international convention center with hi-tech and exhibition facilities built in Incheon for international conferences and events.
Incheon’s Songdo Convensia is comparable to COEX in Seoul and KINTEX in Ilsan.
The Convensia has been created along with Songdo International City, standing out as Incheon’s premier international convention center.
The center has held major international events, including the Conference for G20 Vice-Finance Ministers & Vice-Presidents of Central Bank, the Model UN Conference, and Incheon International Conference on Disability.

By offering Songdo Convensia incentives for inviting a wide range of international and national events, Incheon was listed as the 4th best city for hosting international activities in the MICE section. How has the center attracted such well-known events since its opening in October 2008?
It can accommodate 450 booths and up to 2,000 people with a land area of 54,000㎡, from the 1st basement floor to the 4th floor. Its unique exterior design has attracted public attention, having been built after the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Moreover, TV entertainment programs, commercials, dramas and movies provide the center an opportunity to get enough publicity among the Korean people.
In addition to its extraordinary appearance, the hwanconvention center has a state-of-the-art conferencing system that can be tailored to customer needs. Unlike most convention centers in Korea, Songdo Convensia runs a paid web authentication system as well as a free public wi-fi zone. Furthermore, it plans to serve as a ubiquitous convention center through the continuous expansion of its networking services in the upcoming future.
Songdo Convensia has also obtained LEED, an eco-friendly certification system and BF (Barrier-Free) certificates.
Songdo Convensia provides all citizens a chance to use its major facilities and experience the unique cultural activities performed nationally and internationally. The center has a book café and a coffee shop on the 1st floor along with other facilities. In the lobby of the 1st floor is a special exhibition. The convention area turns into a playground for children, offering them a place for splashing in a swimming pool during the summer holidays and sledding during the winter holidays.
The Convensia plays a pivotal role in public service, making visits to its own facilities, fostering industry-university relationships, and making contributions to the community by offering meals to poor children and sharing in cultural activities with them. Last year, flea markets were held in cooperation with other organizations within the community as a social commitment program.
The center is pushing ahead its 2nd phase project for further success. The completed project will see 18 conference rooms added to the existing 17, total of 35, including an Auditorium and Lounge on both aisles. The new project is expected to draw more international events by improving its innovative facilities.
