YEONSU-GU, A CULTURE AND TOURISM CITY THAT TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR RESIDENTS’ DAILY LIVES
A culture and tourism city where daily life is full of enjoyable options

“I think the level of culture in one’s life determines the quality of life. As a resident of Yeonsu-gu, it is great to be able to enjoy rich culture in my own neighborhood, without having to travel far from home. Residents of Yeonsu-gu have the privilege of watching a wide range of high-quality performances that include music, plays, and musicals, and these are offered weekly with Friday Art Stage and Saturday Culture Madang. In addition, multiple Yeonsu-gu-based festivals, including ‘the Yeonsu Neungheodae Culture Festival’ and ‘Songdo Fireworks Festival’, add vitality to the community. Even with outdoor activities currently limited to fight the spread of COVID-19, Yeonsu-gu has not stopped its efforts to provide excellent cultural performances for its residents, holding events like the Yeonsu-gu Orchestra Balcony Concert.
“On a personal note, ever since I was a young boy, I have enjoyed both watching and playing sports. However, as I get older, it gets harder and harder to set time aside for exercise, and I find that I am always busy with work. The easiest thing for me would be to do all of my favorite activities, such as swimming, table tennis, and general fitness, in a single place. After years of struggling with this, I finally heard about the opening of Songdo Sports Center. I am so excited to see how this center will help make my daily life more active!”
