Gold town and ginkgo nut village

In October, yellow color fills the Boryeong township of Cheongna-myeon. The ginkgo nut village (previously Janghyeon-ri) is best known as one of Korea’s largest habitats for ginkgo nuts. Gingko trees more than a century old are lined up to form picturesque surroundings in gold around the house of Shin Kyeong-seop, a human cultural asset. The ginkgo nut Dulle-gil provides a great walking path near the town, and Mount Oseosan presents a magnificent view around the ginkgo nut village. Its silver grass and the yellow leaves of ginkgo nut village are must-see items in fall. The Recreational Forest at the mountain’s entrance is also a great place to enjoy fall.

Breathtaking view of Boryeong in literature: Eight Essay Observatory

The Eight Color Boryeong Observatory offers a scenic view of the coast and the story of Eight Color Boryeong at Suyeongseong Fortress around Cheonsu Bay and Ocheon port, through the eight themes of writer Lee Mun-gu’s essay. Lee’s hometown is Boryeong.

A wonderful view of Boryeong can be enjoyed at the observatory, including the glow of the setting sun at Cheonsu Bay and the islands of Wonsando and Sapsido. The facility has gained popularity by winning the minister award of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at the Korean Land & City Design Competition 2014.

Seen from an observatory, a Boryeong sunset looks as magnificent as heaven. Ocheon port also presents its own unique beauty with its beautiful lights, and the glow of sunset makes people fall in love with autumn with its gentle waves. The long line of mountains also forms a wonderous landscape.

World of autumn created by red spider lily- Mount Seongjusan Recreational Forest

After the summer heat is gone, the flowers of red spider lily are in full bloom at Mount Seongjusan Recreational Forest. A long time ago, a Buddhist monk fell in love with a pretty young lady. He later passed away and a red spider lily sprang up on his grave. The flower hides in spring and summer when every other flowers bloom and appears in fall, when all flowers have disappeared, just like the monk who had to hide his feelings for the woman.

A combined 200,000 red spider lilies welcome hikers at the forest’s entrance. Coming to see red and yellow leaves in fall, they temporarily lose sight of the season due to these flowers. The red spider lily makes people forget about red and yellow leaves for a while. Be prepared to lose all tracks of time and season at Mount Seongjusan Recreational Forest, where red spider lily flowers are in full bloom.
