The Yeonsu Hyo Festival 2013 is planned by Yeonsu-gu district and will be held for 2 days from October 2 to October 3 at the Incheon City Yeonsu-gu Culture Park.

The Yeonsu Hyo Festival 2013 has “Value of happiness: filial piety” as its slogan and seeks to experience and share filial piety, an important part of Korean traditional culture.  Through the practical form of a festival, we hope to remind participants of the importance of filial piety and discover filial piety required in contemporary society.  We also seek to create an enjoyable and friendly venue that can provide support for the existence and progress of local filial piety culture through Yeonsu-gu’s unique cultural festival and its exhibitions and events.

The festival has 4 themes – everybody filial piety, enjoyment of filial piety, getting to know filial piety, and together filial piety.

The festival will begin at 11:00AM on October 2 with an opening ceremony followed by stage events such as “Hyo Bibimbap Event” during which we will all make bibimbap together, “CINE Hyo” during which we will watch a video on the importance of rediscovering filial piety, and “Traditional Outdoor Performances HYO!”  The festival will host various event that we can watch and enjoy including exhibitions such as “Hyo Life Room”, “Hyo Education Room”, “Hyo Gallery” in addition to events that we can all participate in such as “Our Food Experience Garden”, “Multiple Cultures Food Experience Culture”, “Dreaming Cafe”, and “Hyo Experience through Quizzes”.
