Yeonsugu Korean wrestling Team (Ssireum).

Ssireum is Korean traditional sports, similar to wrestling. People believe that this form of wresting developed naturally. 

In ancient times, it is believed that humans had to fight with wild animals for survival. This type of wresting continued to develop and the traditional form of wresting that we know today gained popularity during the Chosun Dynasty. The sport has also evolved and the modern form of the sport developed in the 20 th century.

Under the same basic rules of Ssiruem, there are some differences in the way the sport is played depending on the region it is being played in. However, the basics are the same.

Ssiruem is known in Korea to help people become stronger mentally and physically as well as develop patience. The sport is played year round, however is played significantly more during the traditional holidays.

The Yeonsugu Wrestling Team was created in hopes to promote the sport globally. Currently, the team has 8 memebers and competes in domestic competitions.
