NeungHeodae Festival

NeungHeodae Festival

If you have lived in Incheon for sometime, you are probably familiar with the Neungheodae Festival. This festival is held every fall in Yeonsu-Gu. It is a festival with a lot of history.

Neungheodae was an ancient port located in Ongnyeon-dong, Incheon.

The port was utilized during the Baekjae period, the Three Kingdom Era. Through this dock, Baekje sent envoys to China.

It’s been 1600 years since the first ships left for China. Now the seas where the ships use to sail over, the land has been reclaimed and made into an international city, surrounded by buildings, apartments, and parks.

The actual Neungheodae port was designated as a cultural heritage location by the government in 1990.  Every year, Yeonsu-Gu holds the Neungheodae Cultural Festival to recognize, remember, and celebrate this historical site.

This year, Neungheodae Festival will be held on September 23 and 24.

There will be many different activities, foods, music, concerts, and parades for people to enjoy. Don’t miss this exciting cultural festival! There will also be a large outdoor stage where many of the performances and celebrations will take place.

For the entertainment of visitors, there will be popular singers, dance groups, performers, talent show and much more!

This year’s Neungheodae Festival is sure to be a ton of fun for the entire family! Mark your calendars and come on down to participate in the festivities!
