In Korea, in the past,

farmers would plan according

to the solar terms.

 

Ipchu in Korea means

that it is the 13th of 24

solar terms marking

formal beginning of autumn

for farmers.

 

This year, it is tomorrow August 8.

You may be thinking oh my gosh,

its still so hot, but yes,

tomorrow will mark the beginning

of autumn for our farmers.

 

For the rest of the community,

autumn will truly begin

with the autumn equinox.

 

For farmers,

this is a very important season

for the maturation of their crops.

 

If there is heavy rain

during this season,

they believe that

they will have a poor harvest.

 

You will also see the evenings

get a little cooler

than they have been.

 

Because it has been so hot,

you may not notice it,

but it will start to cool down!
