SEA SALT POND IN YEONSU-GU’S TIDAL FLAT

The wetlands of Yeonsu-gu

were reclaimed for various reasons,

such as for securing farmland,

establishing a resort,

and for the salt ponds.

 

From Dongmak tidal flat,

lying south of Bongjaesan Mountain,

to the wetlands around Nonhyeon-ri,

a reclamation project was

completed to establish a sea salt pond.

 

At present, the area is full

of apartment complexes

and other residential buildings;

however, in the past,

one could readily observe

the salt sparkling under

the shining sun.
