to raise awareness on proper pet care, strengthen the responsibilities of pet

How to Register Your Pet at Yeonsugu Office
You can register your pet and receive an identification tag at Yeonsu-gu Office. The Economic Support Division
(749-7803), located on the 4th floor, manages pet-registration applications and changes to registered pet
information. In order to register your pet, you must bring along a piece of identification, such as your alien
registration card.
On the application form, specify the dog’s breed, date of birth, fur color, adoption date, and owner information.
The registration fee is KRW 1,500 for neutered pets and KRW 3,000 for non-neutered pets. You will receive your
pet-registration card approximately three weeks following the application, along with the notice of successful
registration. You may also register at a nearby designated animal hospital if you plan to purchase a wireless identification device to insert in or attach to your pet.
File a Lost-Pet Report within 10 Daysand Notify Changes within 30 days
Notice should be provided within 30 days of any changes related to your registered pet, including ownership
transfers, changes to the owner’s address or phone number, pet recovery after filing a lost-pet report, the
pet’s death, or loss of or damage to a wireless-identification device or identification tag. If you have lost your
registered pet, you should report it within 10 days.
When you visit the office and report any changes related to your pet, you must bring along your pet’s registration card. If your registered pet has died, you must provide relevant documents to support this.
Registration of changes can also be done at animal hospitals, free of charge. If your address or phone number
has changed, your registered pet has died, or you have found your pet after filing a lost-pet report, you can
change the status through the animal-protection management system (www.animal.go.kr)
Rabies Vaccination Also Available at Yeonsu-gu Office
Yeonsu-gu Office provides rabies vaccinations among other services. This service is for dogs older than three
months who have been raised in Yeonsu-gu, and they can be administered the vaccine at any designated
animal hospital for KRW 2,500. This year’s spring inoculation period was from May 11 to May 25.
