Cheonghak-dong is a town that breathes the history of Yeonsu-gu.
Just looking around Munhaksan Mountain, Baekje Well's Site,
Temple Cheonghak, and the zelkova tree of Cheonghak-dong, you can quickly feel the long history of this neighborhood.
Despite such abundant historical resources, the village residents have relatively low access to cultural benefits.
To narrow this gap, the 'Yeonsu-gu Calligraphy Association' decided to visually transform this neighborhood through a cooperative art project with the residents. The Association plans to install a variety of spatial art in
Cheonghak-dong with the theme of 'dream.'
The artists and residents will create a signboard of the village with photographs of the past and present
that depict various aspects of the neighborhood. In areas where illegal garbage dumping was frequent,
the residents will illustrate the dream of Cheonghak-dong. With the residents' creative engagement
all over the neighborhood, Cheonghak-dong will show off its new look as a
village that gives wings to everyone’s dreams.
