Yeonsu-gu’s First English Youth Blog Press Corps Inauguration Field Sketch
This past Thursday, September 5 at 4:30 PM.
On the 3rd floor of Yeonsu-gu district’s 대상황실, there was a very joyful and entertaining ceremony.
Yeonsu-gu’s Youth Blog Press Corps disbanding ceremony and Yeonsu-gu’s Youth English Blog Press Corps inauguration ceremony were held!
For 6 months, the Youth Blog Press Corps worked hard without rest! The Youth Blog Press Corps celebrated its starting ceremony on March 20, 2013 and participated actively for 6 months until August 2013 on the Korean blog http://blog.naver.com/yeonsulife.
The ceremony prepared on this day implemented a commendation for an outstanding journalist on the Yeonsu-gu’s Youth Blog Press Corps and his contribution to the invigoration of Yeonsu-gu’s main blog '행복 To You' as a way to provide an appropriate end to the Youth Blog Press Corps’ activities.
Yeonsu-gu’s Youth Blog Press Corps published a total of 105 articles during the 6 months and provided the residents of Yeonsu-gu and Incheon City with helpful information.
Through articles concerning the book festival, mock UN COP, lecture interview, Yeonsu-gu festival, youth activities for experience, Yeonsu-gu concert, flea market, the Youth Blog Press Corps successfully provided the residents with fresh news as journalists from the scenes. Did you enjoy reading about these various festivals and hot issues from the perspectives of the youth?
The ceremony began by an opening of the meeting, a viewing of the Youth Blog Press Corps activities, and an opening statement by Yeonsu-gu’s deputy district leader. These segments were followed by the Youth Blog Press Corps’ own thoughts and experiences, the presentation of commendation for outstanding journalist, the appointment of English journalists and commemorative photograph, self-introductions by the English blog journalists, explanations of the English blog operations, and the closing of the meeting.
The closing consisted of Youth Blog Press Corps members openly sharing stories about their participation. The members became animated as they re-lived their various experiences during their work on the scenes.
The highest outstanding participation journalist award went to Jung Sungyong, a 2nd year student at Incheon Daegun High School, the next outstanding participation journalist award went to Kim Kyunghye, a 2nd year student at Okryun Girls’ High School, and 10 others (Kim Myungji, Kim Yealim, Byun Jiyong, Sun Donghoon, Lee Junwook, Jun Seunghoon, Jun Joonhyuk, Chun Wooyoung, Choi Jiyoung, Choi Jiwon), and the encouragement journalist award went to Kim Dasel, a 1st year student at Chunghak Middle School, and 11 others.
The students that participated this day all stated that their work in the Youth Blog Press Corps was a tremendous help and was sad that their participation had come to an end. Some even wished they had worked harder.
Following the disbanding ceremony, the English Youth Blog Press Corps inauguration ceremony consisted of participation instructions and inaugurations. Yeonsu-gu’s English Youth Blog Press Corps will participate for 4 months from September to December 2013.
