The Memorial Hall for Incheon Landing Operation

It is a war memorial hall that was built to commemorate Incheon Landing Operation successfully conducted by General MacArthur who was the supreme commander of UN Forces during the Korean War. In the memorial hall, various facilities including rest area and performance hall are provided and the photos that compared military equipments and lives between South and North Korea as well as the military equipments that were used during the war are exhibited in the outdoor exhibition hall. Also, this place is used as an educational center for children by showing media-aid related to Incheon Landing Operation.

 

Traffic information
○ Subway

After getting off at Dongmak Station (Line No. 1 of Incheon Subway), use intra-city bus No. 6, 8, and 18. Get off at Songdo Resort and walk for 5 minutes.
After transferring to Line No. 1 of Incheon Subway at Bupyeong Station, use intra-city bus at Dongmak Station
After getting off at Juan Station, use intra-city bus No. 64. Walk for 5 minutes after getting off at Ongnyeon-dong Recycle Center.
After getting off at Dong-Incheon Station, use intra-city bus No. 6 and 16. Get off at Songdo Resort and walk for 5 minutes.

Walk for 5 minutes after getting off at Songdo Resort riding bus No. 6, 8, and 18.
For bus No. 64, walk for 5 minutes after getting off at Ongnyeon-dong Recycle Center.

After reaching Songdo Resort following the sign at the end of 1st and 2nd Gyeongin Expressway and Seohaean Expressway, drive up at the opposite side.

 

Additional information
○ Exhibition hall
The exhibition hall provides explanation from the cause of outbreak to the process of ceasefire in the Korean War. It exhibits the actual figures and replica including weapons, military uniforms of South and North Korean soldiers as well as that of Chinese soldiers. Along with the board of the combat situations, the diorama of Incheon Landing Operation as well as the assault boat used at landing, model of the warship, and memorial of General MacArthur, the cause of Korean War, Incheon Landing Operation, and our effort for peaceful unification are reevaluated through this exhibition hall.

 

○ Media center 
It is utilized as an educational center for the students of Incheon by viewing films about the 9. 15 Incheon Landing Operation. There are 250 seats in this media center and at 1pm on every Sunday, a film on ‘Vision of Incheon Landing Operation and Peace’ is being shown. The film viewing for a group is available only by reservation in advance (18 mins. running time). Also, a movie is premiered free of charge every Sunday at 2pm. The premiere schedule changes every week.

 

○ Outdoor exhibition
Including LVT that showed off its commanding position during Incheon Landing Operation, 13 pieces in 10 kinds of equipments such as LCM and LCVP assault boat, F-86 Sabre, M-47 tank, 3"/50 warship gun, North Korean machine gun, and Hawk guided missile are exhibited. Also, facilities such as the Tower of Freedom Defense, artificial waterfall, relief at the main gate, and outdoor stage are provided in addition to subsidiary facilities such as lounge, kiosks, small park, and waterwheels. These facilities are offered as relaxation spaces for the visitors.
