Capturing the table with exotic flavor Indian foods loved by the world

"What is this?!" This was what I thought when I first tried Indian food. It was thrilling. My first experience with Indian food completely changed my thinking about what can be so special about curry. Amazement prevailed over unfamiliarity, and my hands were in constant motion. Old people say healthy foods are bitter. They might change their mind after tasting these dishes filled with super-foods like turmeric to lentils. Healthy foods can also be delicious!

1. SWAGOT

Swagot is the only Indian restaurant in Songdo International City, and it invites you to a world of new taste. The word "Swagot" means "Welcome" in Hindi, and true to its name, Swagot is a place that is welcoming to those trying Indian foods for the first time. Although it just opened last April, it is already being praised as a tasty restaurant, watering the mouths of both Koreans and foreigners. Swagot was able to create an exotic atmosphere with a sophisticated interior that has captured the hearts of women. President Park Mi-hee says she started the restaurant after serving as a volunteer in India. Park is donating a part of the restaurant's profit to an Indian volunteer's group. Committed to serve good foods, with the profits going to a good cause, Park personally learned how to cook Indian foods even after hiring an Indian chef. Thanks to her efforts, she not only controls the kitchen but also provides detailed descriptions of the Indian foods to people trying them for the first time. If it is difficult to choose from the menu, try the "Lunch Special." Set A is especially recommended as you can enjoy two kinds of "Today's Curry," naan, green salad, Korean-style rice and lassi, a dessert yogurt. "Swagot Barbecued Chicken" and "Tandoori King Prawn" are also favorites, with a taste that can only be found at Swagot. There are also many kinds of "Vegetable Curry" for vegetarians.

2. SEVEN WAYS

A rich feast of flavor awaits at the end of the road. Seven Ways opened in 2008 as a Pakistan/Indian restaurant. You might be curious about the relationship between Pakistan and Indian foods. Pakistan separated from India in 1958, a year earlier than Korea was divided. The food culture is a bit different from region to region but it has a similar recipe. Seven Ways is run by a Pakistani. You can fully enjoy the feeling of local Pakistan, making it one of the most famous restaurants in Incheon. If you bring foreigners who have a hard time eating Korean food to this restaurant and treat them, you are sure to get a thumbs up. Seven Ways is also perfect for travelers who want to relive their memories and people who want to feel the exotic atmosphere of India. "Chicken Jalfrazi" is a favorite dish served only at Seven Ways. Other popular choices include "Tandoori Chicken" and "Chicken Biryani (fried rice)" where the chicken is hidden. The restaurant recently started a delivery service to allow people enjoy Indian food at home. The national holiday is almost here, and according to President Kim Tae-young, Pakistanis eat a lot of goat meat during their holidays. As there are many kinds of spices, Kim also mentioned that there are more than 50 holiday recipes. This autumn, maybe it will be a good idea to look for new tastes at an Indian restaurant filled with richness.
