Cheongryangsan Observation Deck & Palgakheong
The Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute says the first sunrise of the new year will take place at 7:48 a.m.
The best place to watch the first sunrise of the new year in Yeonsu-gu may be Cheongryangsan Mountain. It is 172 meters high, relatively low, but it is famous for its unobstructed view, so on a sunny day, you can see as far as Yeongjongdo Island and Daebudo Island.
You can reach the top of the Cheongryangsan Mountain from Dongchun-dong, but if you take a trail behind the Incheon Metropolitan Museum, you can reach the top more easily. While going up the trail, you encounter Cheongryangsan Incheon Bridge Observatory. From there, you enjoy a grand view of the Yeonsu-gu area and the West Sea as well as Incheon Bridge at a glance, refreshing yourself. Keep walking up for about ten minutes from the observatory, you will reach Palgakjeong, near the top of the mountain. Here, you can watch the sunrise on the first day of the new year. The place to watch the first sunrise is toward Yeonsu-dong. The first sun rises between the original downtown and the Songdo International City and brings delight beyond words.

Aamdo used to be a small island that became an island when the tide came in. People could walk to Aamdo during low tide.
