Yeonsu-gu works to internationalize Yeonsu-gu’s education in collaboration with Incheon University and New York State University in Korea.

Yeonsu-gu will operate the “Yeonsu-gu global initiative youth camp” with Incheon University and the New York State University campus in Korea for local community elementary and middle school students during their summer vacation.

Yeonsu-gu, designated as an educational special district, will operate the global initiative youth camp program to increase global competitiveness of the youth in our local community.

The New York State University campus in Korea runs a Green Climate Frontiers camp, which addresses various environmental issues.

3-day programs will be available twice between July 28th and August 2nd for 200 elementary school students who are selected from the 24 schools in community.

The participates will learn about and understand environmental issues through a variety of activities and experiences, such as recreation, letter writing to the GCF secretariat, composing campaign songs and related choreography. The participants will work as environmental activists.

The Center for Science Gifted Education of Incheon University will be hosting an Amalgamative Thinking Power Camp for 200 middle school students who are selected from 16 schools in community. 5-day programs will be available twice between July 28th and August 8th.
.
The Amalgamative Thinking Power Camp is composed of many interesting programs, such as a popcorn experiment, a study of social insects such as bees, a study of election methods of various world countries, understanding the health effects of salt, and learning the scientific methods of hypotheses and evidence.

The two universities’ operational support of the summer camp will be followed by other regional universities in future.

Each university’s sector-specific educational capacity will transfer competitiveness to our elementary, middle school, and high school students. Yeonsu-gu plans to increase such opportunities and support to create more beneficial camp programs.

Yeonsu-gu, our eco-cosmopolitan city, will implant strength in our youth leadership and   their communication skills through the camp as well as instill environmental awareness. We expect to strengthen the global capacity of our human resources with local universities, as it is necessary to our local community.
