As Valentine’s Day approaches,

Yeonsu-gu has begun chocolate and candy safety inspections.

Valentine’s Day on February 14, when the woman gives chocolates to the man to express her affection, is quickly approaching.

In preparation for Valentine’s Day on February 14, Yeonsu-gu will begin safety inspections of chocolate and candy that are in high demand during this time.

Yeonsu-gu will form 2 supervisory teams with food sanitation inspectors and will inspect convenience stores, stationary stores, supermarkets, and other food distributers within children’s food safety protection zones for 3 days from the 10th to the 12th.

Primary inspection will be concerning sanitary handling of food, compliance with facility standards, lack of licensing/reporting/labeling and display/selling of expired products, compliance with food preservation standards, and fraudulent advertising.  The inspections will be carried out side by side with the Incheon Environmental Research Center’s inspection prosecutor.

We seek to guarantee food safety through distributor inspections during a time when the demand for chocolate is on the rise.

We plan to report a ban on adulterated and harmful food as well as fraudulent advertising and packaging.
