 Keep Healthy in the Winter with these Traditional Korean Drinks 




Countries around Asia have been known for their natural remedies and knowledge of how to keep healthy during cold and hot weather! Here are a few tips for you to keep healthy in this cold weather!



 

Winter seasons in Korea are when many people catch colds. 

How can you keep your immune system strong? By drinking Sujeonggwa. 

This is a persimmon based drink with a kick, which is the cinnamon inside the drink. 

This drink is a very traditional drink and was enjoyed throughout the palace in ancient Korea.

 It is usually enjoyed cold as a dessert drink.


 


Another drink yujacha or yujahwachae.

 Yuja is a made out of the citrus fruit yuza and you will see many people drinking it to chase a cold away or prevent a cold.

 Yujacha is served hot and Yujahawachae is served cold. 

Citrons are great for your immune system and your liver!



 

If you have already caught a cold and are coughing try this tea. In a pot combine about 7 -10 jujubes, 

one pear (sliced into small pieces), and a bit of ginger and honey. 

Pour some water into the pot and simmer it all together for about 40 minutes to an hour 

until you are able to get the juices out of the jujube and the pears. 

Add the honey to go with your taste. 

If you like it on the sweeter side you can add more honey.

 Honey is a good remedy for coughs as well. 

You want to be able to bring all the juices out of the pears, jujube, and ginger in the pot. Watch carefully. 

If you see that you need to add more water do so.

 This is a natural remedy that has been used in Korea for ages!

 It is sure to help you with your cold and cough!
