Take the Subway !!

Public transportation in Korea is really a convenient way of getting around. The subway system can get you almost anywhere in the Seoul Metropolitan area which includes Incheon. If you are visiting or living here, here is an easy way to utilize the subway.

 

1.     Purchase a single journey card.

If you don’t have any card for transportation, you must buy the single pass.

At first, choose the type of ticket (Adult or Child). Then, choose your destination station on the screen, and get a single ticket.

2.     Go inside of station.

Once you have your ticket or card, tap your card/ticket at the gate. DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR TICKET! You will need it when you exit.  

3.     Wait for the subway.

You can check your estimated time to your destination. You are also check where the next train is.

 

4.     Take the subway

Once you are on the subway, you can check the map to see which stop you are at. It is also shown inside each train or it can be heard through audio announcements.

 

5.     Receive your deposit back

Once you have arrived at your destination, you can return your card via the machine and it will return 500 Korean won.

This is a great way to get around in Korea!
