Haedoji Park

Spring has come! The weather has gotten significantly warmer and you will start to see all the colors of spring in the parks around Yeonsu-Gu! Spring is a time where many families and couples go on picnics, because the weather is so nice and the flowers and trees are so beautiful. If you are planning to go on a picnic in Songdo, here is a great place to try first!

 

 

There are a lot of parks in Yeonsu including the Haedoji Park. Haedoji means sunrise. If you come early morning, you are able to watch the sunrise at this park.

There are great walkways throughout the park, which has beautiful landscaping. In addition, you are able to see a panoramic view of Songdo from this point as well.

In the center of the park, there is a large pond with fountain for people to enjoy.

This is a special playground for children to play. It looks like a ship. Many parents like to bring their young children to this park so that they can play on the play ground.  

 

Also in the park is a giant slide. There are two sides to the slide. It is quite a long slide and high so it is fun for older children to enjoy.

 

 

This is a special library. It is called Library in the forest. If you want to read these books, you are able to take them and enjoy them in the park. It is highly recommended though that you return the books you read before leaving the park for other people to enjoy as well.  

The operating hours is from 8am to 7pm. It is operated on a donation program, so many of the books in here have been donated by residents for visitors to the park to enjoy.  

 

There is also a larger library in the park as well. It was built in April, 2016., one of the newest libraries in Yeonsu. You can enjoy cultural programs and a digital library here.
