Successful Hosting of the First Global Cheonghak Making:
“Yeonsu Multicultural Festival”
Cheonghak-dong of Yeonsu-gu successfully hosted the First Global Cheonghak Making: “Yeonsu Multicultural Festival” with the theme of “With Love Breaking Prejudice” at Yongdam Park on the 28th.
As we rapidly become a multi-cultural society, this festival was prepared to promote local community development, citizen harmony, and the feeling of homogeneity wherever we come from.
In order to deal with homesickness of multicultural family members and to help them understand Korean culture, Pungmul Nori, World’s Costume Parade, World’s Musical Instrument Exhibition, and Singing Contest were provided, so all participants had a memorable time.
In addition, a variety of events including Multicultural Quiz & Dance Contest, Performances, Face Painting, Songpyeon-Making, Ddeokmae-Chigi, Jegi-Chagi, Gammul-Drigi(Persimmon Dyeing), Tuho-Nori, and Traditional Kite-Making were provided.
“We will do our best,” an official of the Cheonghak-dong Festival Promotional Committee said, “to support multicultural family members residing in Yeonsu-gu to adapt as members of society.”
