Find out buildings in Incheon!!
Hello, this is reporter Jiwon Choi.
On November 16th, students from several high schools had a tour in our town, Incheon. It was hosted by Construction Association of Korea (CAK), and it was such an interesting and exciting tour.
In the morning, students assembled in front of lifelong education center in Yeonsu-gu. The plan of the tour was visiting Compact-Smart City in Songdo, Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall, a subway construction site, and finally visiting 2014 Incheon Asian Game Main Stadium in Jung-gu.
First, students visited Compact-Smart City in Songdo. At Compact-Smart City, students could see past, present, and future of Incheon. Students could also learn about remarkable buildings in Incheon, such as Songdo Convensia.
This is the figure version of Incheon City in Compact-Smart City.
Then students moved on to Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall, and watched a video about Incheon Bridge. Incheon Bridge is a bridge that connects Songdo international city and Youngjong island, and it is the longest, and biggest bridge in Korea.
We could learn about how Incheon Bridge was built, and there were observatories so we could see Incheon Bridge more clearly.
After lunch, students went to a subway station construction site. After listening to brief explanation about the Incheon's subway construction and the safety rules, we could finally enter to the construction site.
Finally, we went to Incheon Asian Game Main Stadium. Although it was Saturday, construction was still going on. We could see the magnificent of the building.
Overall, it was a good trip for the students, and I, who was one of the students, learned a lot about architecture and buildings. If we just look around once, we'll be able to find out wonderful buildings of Incheon.:)
