The Closing Ceremony of Global Debate Academy

 

 

 

On April  5th in 2014, there was the Closing Ceremony of Global Debate Academy.

Global Debate Academy was managed for 10 weeks from January 18th to strengthen capability of internationalization.

The Students who were selected to delegate of the school by a letter of self introduction in English and a telephone interview got classes on Saturdays for 3 hours with a native-speaking.

 The classes were in Yonsei University Global Campus.

 

 

The ceremony was in Veritas Hall A 303.

Yonsei University wrote the name of buildings on them for first-time visitors.

There are also information screens inside.

 

 

 

 

This is the Opening Ceremony on last January 18th.

The Mayor of Yeonsu-gu and the vice president of Yonsei University attended!

 

 

 

 

The students were divide by their levels.

There were 4 Premier classes, 5 Advanced classes, and 4 Regular classes.

There were about 12 students in a class.

 

To listen the motion and organize pros and cons and prepare the rebutal was not easy, but it was very valuable time because of kind teacher and fun friends.

 

 

 

 

These are the books we used for 10 weeks and snacks which were given every week.

Free classes plus free snacks! It was very cool, isn't it?

In fact, we become very hungry after thinking hard for 3hours.

 

 

There was also a debate performance on the basis of what we learned.

It was about traditional clothes of Islam women.

 

 

 

 

There was a speech of a native-speaker's impression, too.

 

 

 

 

A student of Yonsei University who volunteered for an assistant told us that the English which can debate is the real skill, not the English for exams.

 

 

 

The students who did well got excellence award.

 

 

 

After getting certificates, there was a photo time of each classes.

It was hard to get up early on Saturday mornings but it was really fun when we go into the class.

The 10 weeks passed so quickly..

I'll miss the Global Debate Academy.

However thanks to the Yeonsu-gu office and Yonsei University.
