[Yeonsu News] Yeonsu-gu Youth Dream Market helps young households who suffer from hardships.

Starting next month, Yeonsu-gu District will test-run the Yeonsu District Youth Dream Market, which provides free public-private-sponsored daily necessities for young households suffering from employment difficulties and living difficulties due to the prolonged coronavirus.

 

It is a program to create an environment where any resident can easily practice sharing in their daily lives by supporting youth dream packages and welfare services to young household owners who are struggling financially.

 

The Youth Dream Market is installed in the form of a 'store in the store' in the first food market store in Yeonsu-gu (3-2, Biryu-daero 519beon-gil) provide to the Youth Dream Package, which consists of groceries and daily necessities worth KRW 30,000 to young household owners per month, (once a month, up to two times a month).

 

If economic difficulties continue after two times use, various welfare services such as emergency welfare support, application for basic livelihood recipients, and job information welfare counseling will also be provided in conjunction with the administrative welfare center.

 

Any young householder between the ages of 19 and 39 who have difficulties living in Yeonsu-gu can use the Youth Dream Market from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. Wednesday-Friday (until 7 P.M. on Wednesday of last week ).

 

First, from September 1, 200 young residents in Seonhak-dong and Yeonsu-dong will undergo a pilot operation to make up for the deficiencies, and from October, the management will be expanded to 500 young residents in Yeonsu-gu.

 

In order to expand users, qualification standards are minimized and you can receive benefits by visiting the Youth Dream Market and filling out personal information. Unlike the existing welfare system, the barrier to entry is significantly lowered.

 

 

Based on active public-private cooperation such as local businesses, welfare foundations, supermarkets, and resident sponsorship, donations and food are being sponsored, so we plan to provide them as items preferred and helpful to young people.

 

Prior to the pilot operation, Kia's Incheon Regional Headquarters has already delivered 300 boxes of instant rice, Celltrion Welfare Foundation has sponsored KRW 1 million worth of instant rice by the end of next year, E-Mart Training Center has donated 250 sets of packages, the shiny market will donate 300kg of rice,  S Defrontier Co. Ltd. is KRW 5 million in cash, and  Incheon Port Corporation donated KRW 10 million, etc., sponsorship for young households is continuing by regular month.

 

Companies or individuals who want direct sponsorship of donations and goods can contact the welfare policy department of Yeonsu-gu District Office (749-7661) or the first food market in Yeonsu-gu District (817-1377).

 

Meanwhile, Yeonsu-gu also operates food banks and food markets that provide daily necessities to vulnerable people who meet certain standards such as the lowest class, basic livelihood recipients, and low-income families.

 

The food market is a system in which low-income residents registered as members can visit stores once a month and use five items of daily necessities for six months free of charge, and currently operates two branches in Sunhak-dong and Okryeon-dong.

 

In addition, the district has established a five-year plan for youth policies in Yeonsu-gu to support the stable life and cultural activities of young people and is continuously promoting 17 projects in four areas.

 

Various policies have been discovered and underway, ranging from operating youth networks, a channel for communication with young people, to support start-ups to strengthen employment capabilities and revitalize the local economy, job experience services, rental housing for empty houses, and art planning.
