Yeonsu-gu District will provide up to KRW 80,000 worth of gym clothes per person for all middle and high school freshmen in Incheon for the first time.
In order to strengthen the public nature of education and reduce the burden on parents' education expenses, the education expenses will be reviewed by the Education Expenses Review Committee in September and KRW 570 million will be spent on 8,000 middle and high school freshmen in the region.
For this, District enacted an ordinance to prepare the reason last year and has been planning to apply for freshmen this year after conducting a demand survey, gathering opinions and consulting by each school this year.
The recipient is for freshmen in 2021 and first-year students from other regions, who can only apply if they have not received support for the purchase of gym clothes from other local governments or institutions.
Up to KRW 80,000 per person for each winter uniform and summer uniform. Those eligible for support can first purchase each school's gym clothes and apply through their schools.
Meanwhile, the district has been providing KRW 6.3 billion in educational expenses, the largest in the Incheon area, in improving the school environment and supporting creative personality education since 2019.
