[Yeonsu News] Yeonsu Public Library Holds the 17th Joy and Joy Online Book Concert

The Yeonsu Public Library will hold the 17th joy and joy online book concert for the community members at the YouTube channel for the Yeonsu Public Library from 7pm to 9pm on the 23rd.

Writer Lee Hee-young, who has written books on youth growth such as ‘Nana (2021)’ and ‘Usual Sunset (2021)’, will lead the book talk on the theme of ‘existence and identity of youth,’ like unsharable secrets, and engage in talks with the readers.

Writer Lee Hee-young writes youth novels out of her wish to talk to her in childhood and started her writing career when she was awarded the best new writer award in the 1st Kim Seung-ok Literature Award.

Afterwards, she won the 12th Changbi Youth Literature Award in 2018 with ‘Paint’ and the grand prize in the 1st BridG Romance Thriller Contest with ‘Who Are You,’ while publishing ‘Nana,’ a long novel that gives touching consolation to those who have forgotten ‘self.’ in this October.

‘Island and City,’ a duo who sing for youth, sings in empathizing harmonious chord with a clear voice from ‘Eunhee’ and a deep, grave voice from ‘Sung Hae-bin.’ They will sing their album songs and the songs they want to sing for the youth for the acoustic opening performance.

Any community member with interest may apply for the event with no cost at the Yeonsu Public Library website (www.yspubliclib.go.kr)>Culture Plaza>Culture Event). For details, please call 749-2164.

Meanwhile, the Yeonsu Public Library Joy and Joy Book Concert first started in 2013 with the 17th event held this year and its program includes the culture performance outreach for the community and the meeting with authors.

“I hope the talk with a youth growth novel writer, Lee Hee-young will provide an opportunity to expand the thinking on youth identity, look back on ‘me’ in childhood, and ponder upon the true me,” said an official.
