[Yeonsu News] Yeonsu-gu Offers the Companion Animal Public Etiquette Class by the original dog president, Lee Ung-jong

Yeonsu-gu (District Mayor Ko Nam-seok) will have the the companion animal public etiquette (petiquette) class at the Yeonsu Art Hall from 2pm on the 4th. This class is offered as a part of the efforts to cultivate a desirable companion animal culture that will help the co-existence of the companion animal raising households and the non-raising households.

The 2020 census revealed that there are a total of 3,129,000 households that raise companion animals in Korea. The steady surge of the raising households are causing many complaints, such as the disputes from companion animals not following the public etiquette and the conflicts in apartment housing due to the behavior issues.

Yeonsu-gu invited Director Lee Ung-jong to publicize the required companion animal public etiquette for companion animal owners and help them find answers for the difficult behavior issues of companion animals, providing an opportunity to share information and knowledge with the community members.

This lecture accepts only 80 on-site attendants, who applied in advance (online application at http://clearcity.kr), under the COVID-19 quarantine guideline. For those who are not able to attend on-site, Yeonsu-gu will have the YouTube live streaming available for attending at home on the event day.

“As the COVID-19 seriously restricted the in-person education, we invited a behavior correction specialist, Director Lee Ung-jong to have online and offline discussions with the community members,” said a district official, adding, “Any community member with interests is highly encouraged to attend to cultivate the desirable companion animal culture.”
