On November 3rd, Yeonsu will begin operation of an autonomous smart library at Yeonsu Office’s in Hanmaeum Plaza to improve the convenience of borrowing books for Yeonsu residents.
This smart library is an autonomous book borrowing/returning machine in the form of a vending machine that can be used 24 hours a day. About 500 books will be available, and users can borrow or return books without visiting the library.
Anyone with a membership card at the Yeonsu Public Library can borrow up to 3 books per person. If you do not have a membership card, you can obtain a membership card by visiting the library after registering as a member on the website of the Yeonsu Public Library. It is possible to borrow books from other libraries up to 2 books per person through the inter-library service.
A library official said, “The Smart Library of Yeonsu Office is expected to help local residents to make reading a daily life by not only improving the inconvenience caused by the closure of the Yeonsu Children’s Library, but also allowing them to borrow books safely and conveniently during COVID-19.”
