Happy New Year from Yeonsu

Here at Yeonsu-Gu we hope everyone enjoys the lunar new year!

By tradition, the lunar new year is one of the most important holidays in Korea.

It is celebrated throughout the country and many people travel to their home towns to be with their families.

The trains are usually full with passengers traveling home so if you are trying to get a ticket it may be quite difficult.

If you are in the city, you will want to check what is open and what is closed.

Banks, government offices, the post office will all be closed.

Many companies will also remain closed during this holiday.

There will be marts that will be open on some days, so you should check first.

Also, important to remember is ddukguk!

This is rice cake soup.

Many Korean people will celebrate new years morning by eating rice cake soup so make sure you have a bowl!

Happy New Year from Yeonsu!
