Yeonsu will host the ‘2021 ICLC Lifelong Learning Expo for Global Citizens’ in Songdo Convensia 1.2 Exhibition Hall on the 29th and 30th with 9 themed halls and 154 booth as an event in conjunction with the 5th UNESCO International Conference on Learning Cities (hereinafter referred to as ICLC), which will be held for 4 days from the 27th.
It will be an event to provide various sights and experiences to domestic and international participants and citizens visiting ICLC, and to confirm the international competitiveness and status of Incheon and Yeonsu, which will become future lifelong learning cities.
As the theme of the event venue, 'Journey to the city of lifelong learning - the path of a global citizen,’ Yeonsu plans to present the process of acquiring information and experiencing it in the form of a road tour through the keywords city-ecology-people-art-global village displayed on one page of a large book displayed in each theme hall.
In addition to the main stage where official events including the opening ceremony and celebratory performances will be held, it will be decorated in the form of a ‘Yeonsu open space,’ which will consist of various sculptures and 36 booth spaces, and booth spaces for various themes.
The Climate Change Response Day Theme Hall, which consists of 35 independent experience booths, and other 30 booths including the SDG Public Relations Hall, the Book Festival Theme Hall, and the Media Festival Theme Hall will each be installed. There will also be a Yeonsu Innovation Policy Pomotion Center, Traditional Culture Experience, and 10 booths for each participating institution.
Moreover, individual booths such as jobs and social welfare fairs are prepared along with local university and school booths to operate as a learning platform to promote the policy and the excellence of lifelong learning in Korea.
Under the theme of ‘contactless era, new lifelong learning and urban trends,’ at the ‘2021 ICLC Lifelong Learning Expo for Global Citizens,’ each themed hall is structured so that participants can naturally learn or experience lifelong learning and the basic knowledge that global citizens should have.
Yeonsu will adjust the number of visitors inside according to the government's COVID-19 quarantine guidelines. § Opening ceremony
At the opening ceremony held on the main stage at 1 pm on the 29th, various performances are prepared under the motto of the importance of carbon neutrality, which has emerged as a global concern after COVID-19.
With the host of Announcer Soo-bin Cho, the event will emphasize the importance of carbon neutrality in anticipation of a clearer Earth through the 2050 carbon-neutral environmental video and carbon-neutral declaration.
With the opening performance of Korean traditional musician Ae-ri Park and pop dancer Poppin Hyeon-jun, there will be a congratulatory performance by the YeonsuDist rict Art Group and UNESCO ICM Martial Arts Demonstration Team, as well as an invitational performance by the Crossover Farmian Singers.
§ SDG Public Relations Hall
SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) is an urgent joint implementation task set by the United Nations and the international community to solve 17 main goals including universal problems (poverty, disease, education, gender equality, refugees, conflict, etc.), global environmental problems (climate change, energy, environmental pollution, water, biodiversity, etc.), economic and social problems (technology, housing, labor, employment, production consumption, social structure, law, internal and external economy etc.) etc., and 169 specific goals to be achieved by the UN and the international community from 2016 to 2030.
Under the slogan of 'Think globally, act locally', it will be decorated as a meaningful space to individually introduce the UN Sustainable Development Goals in collaboration with the Incheon Council for Sustainable Development.
The public relations center plans to install 17 target pillars to display contents and images, and to provide experience spaces such as photo zones and board games to approach participants and citizens in a friendly way.
§ Climate Change Response Day Theme Hall
In about 30 booths, various practical examples in daily life that can reduce climate change are organized in a friendly space, and various experience events are held.
The experience program zone displays the contrasting image of the future of Korea, which will shine brightly with the participation of the people in the carbon-neutral environment and the polluted climate so far. An exhibition space for artworks drawn by children in Yeonsu on the theme of the importance of climate change will also be set up.
In order to encourage participation in the movement route, it is composed of an open corridor experience booth, and a globe-shaped light that alternately turns on gray-green-blue lights is also installed.
At 3:30 pm on the 29th, Professor Jae-Chun Choi, a biologist, will give a special lecture on the impact and importance of climate change on the global ecology under the theme of 'Climate Change and Ecology.’
§ Yeonsu Innovation Policy Promotion Center
It is s a space for sharing various policies implemented or ongoing by Yeonsu, the representative city of lifelong learning, with the global village through 15 independent booths and 10 performance promotion booths.
The introduction of ICLC attraction, establishment of a cultural foundation, designation of a preliminary cultural city, creation of a women-friendly city and dementia-free village, conversion of all-dong residents' associations, and selection of the Angol/Hambak Village Urban Regeneration New Deal project will be introduced.
the Songdo International City Library and Yeonsu Culture and Arts Center construction project will be introduced along with policies in daily life such as the Yeonsu E-eum and Benefit Plus project, the declaration of self-reliance of masks and the establishment of public mask production facilities.
Yeonsu will actively inform and promote the international competitiveness of Yeonsu, a representative city of lifelong learning, as well as practices related to global citizens education through the Yeonsu Innovation Policy Promotion Center.
■ Book Festival
A total of 35 booths will be set up including digital book experience hall, writer's room, experience booth, contest exhibition, stamp tour, etc.
The book concert with music will be run from 11 am on the 30th for 1 hour and 30 minutes, with writer Eun-young Choi of 'Bright Night' and singer Harim.
From 1 o’clock, a collaboration between knowledge curators will be held under the theme ‘Life of a library, the fate of books in the future,’ Hye-young Lee, professor of library and information science at Dongduk Women's University, Seul-ah Lee, and Byeong-geun Jeon will have time to communicate with citizens through lectures, questions, and open discussions.
In addition, the 'Writer's Room booth is divided into two days, and 4 artists including Seon-kyung Yoo, Joo-hye Park, Jang-seongK Kim, and Yun-jeong Kim are invited to prepare a special time to communicate with the citizens.
§ Media Festival
With a total of 30 booths, it is composed mainly of citizen participation programs through media such as radio, TV and YouTube, along with the media sharing bus and smart mobile studio.
Yeonsu Village TV Resident Village Broadcasting Team, part of the village community revitalization project, introduces village broadcasting through ‘Visible Radio,’ and the broadcasting team will also present village broadcasting contents of residents, such as introducing hidden spots in Yeonsu.
In addition, TV news is produced directly in the studio inside the bus as a media experiential education that uses large buses equipped with facilities such as education and broadcasting equipment to visit places with insufficient educational infrastructure, such as islands and mountainous areas. Participants will be able to explore broadcasting-related jobs such as PD, announcer, and cameraman.

It is a Korean food fair for the globalization and popularization of Korean food to inform the global village of the excellence of Korean food. Also, it is a place where you can enjoy not only the taste of Korean food, but also culture, fashion, and etiquette through the Invitational Exhibition and the Excellent Food Promotion Center.
Under the theme of ‘Health, Well-being, Food’, the exhibition hall consists of five themes: Korean Food Theme hall, Experience Hall, 24 Seasons Play Culture Event Hall, and Excellent Food Exhibition and Sales Hall to provide various programs that will stimulate the taste buds of participants.
In particular, at the Korean Food Experience Center, food manufacturing process demonstrations and communication education are conducted based on various themes related to Korean food in which Korean food masters and food experts in each field directly participate.
